ASSONAVE is the National Association of Italian Shipbuilders and Shiprepairers.It is based in Rome and it represents almost the totality of the Country’s shipbuilding industry gathering shipyards, shiprepair yards, Diesel engines producers, marine research centers and about 100 marine equipment suppliers.
Its main task is the promotion of the national shipbuilding industry. To this end, still holding the Associates autonomy in their respective fields of activity, it selects and promotes the most appropriate common actions to be pursued towards institutions, both national and international.
The Association does not deal with problems relating to Trade Unions issues.

Assonave, moreover, promotes agreements with private bodies in order to achieve at competitive conditions, instruments and services in support of its associates activity.
Within the frame of its institutional objectives, Assonave provides its members with all information regarding the Italian and European law system. It also takes care of the elaboration of periodical market analyses of the sector situation.
Assonave is associated to Confindustria (the General Confederation of Italian Private Industries) and is a promoting member of the Federazione del Mare , the Italian Maritime Cluster which gathers the great part of the sector’s organizations.
